Chin-ups are arguably the best upper body resistance exercise around. There is no other exercise that can replace its functional value; and no, the lat pull down is a not a suitable replacement. Not only do chins build the back and biceps, the abdominals, chest and grip get a workout as well.
A chin-up bar in a gym is also a highly useful fixture, given that it can also be used as an anchor for rings, bands or a TRX.
Sadly, most chin-up bars do not answer the call. Most are bolted together from a number of pieces, which suffer after hours of swinging and kipping.
The AmStaff Fitness Bar itself is bolted flush to the support brackets so there is no play or movement, just a solid fixture that will take any weight up to 400kg! The chin bar can also be mounted on the ceiling for a vertical drop.
33" out from the wall to provide plenty of room for kipping for even the biggest people, and is made with a diamond knurling which looks tough, resists abuse and ensures a good grip.
Specifications:
- 31" from wall
- 48" wide (from hole to hole)
- 20" Verticle wall attach bracket
- 6 bolts supplied with each cell. Installation of bolts require a masonry drill-bit and socket
- Diamond knurling
- Great for CrossFit
- Heavy-duty commercial structure
- Warranty: Limited Lifetime (Structural Welds & Frame)

- PBPeter B.Verified BuyerI recommend this productRated 5 out of 5 stars6 months agoRock solid, great quality, great price
This chin-up bar is rock solid. Note that the picture online is outdated, and the new version is much nicer with a matte powder coat finish and tubular supports. It doesn't come with hardware for mounting on wall studs, so I bought 1/2" x 4" lag bolts with washers and they did the trick, spaced exactly 4' apart. While it was definitely handy using my impact driver for the top and bottom bolts, it wasn't that bad using a hand socket wrench to get at the middle bolts (just drill decent sized pilot holes - 3/8" for all worked great). It's not going anywhere! For those who might be interested, the bar's diameter is 1 1/8", since that spec isn't listed.

We use this pull-up bar almost every day, and it has been absolutely solid! The build quality is top-notch, providing the perfect grip and stability for intense workouts, including muscle-ups. It handles heavy use without any issues, making it a must-have for anyone serious about calisthenics.

Bar is solid and has just the right thickness - so many others are way too thick for my grip. This thing ain't moving. As others have stated, it only comes with bolts to mount in concrete, so you'll have to go buy some lag bolts and washers -- worth it. Highly recommended.

As you and a few others have pointed out, the current version only includes hardware for concrete installation. Based on this feedback, we’ve already decided to include wood screws in the next production runs. This is exactly why we value customer input , it helps us improve and deliver an even better experience moving forward. - PAPeter A.Verified BuyerI recommend this productRated 5 out of 5 stars6 months agoStrong and stable. Well worth it.
We’ve had a door jam chin-up bar for years. Rarely used it because it never feels stable. For this price, it is 200% worth getting the AmStaff. About double the cost of the flimsy door jam bar, and now that it’s mounted on my gym wall, this thing ain’t movin’.
One thing worth mentioning, it only comes with mounting hardware for, I think, concrete. A trip to the hardware store though, and it’s bolted onto my stud wall.
