This slam ball has a texture that feels easier on my hands. And it’s cushier than what I’m used to in the gym so it seems quieter! For a home gym, kinda great. I’m very pleased with this piece of equipment.

I have a few concerns regarding weither a rubber-ish shell would tamper with the balls ability to do it's job. Fortunatly it is an incredible tool for any kind of quick and explosive movement.
The grip is a bit slippery off the box but that comes along with any new purchase of a rubber item. If you are doubting the quality of the product, then allow me to dissuate your fears. The grooves are wonderfull for a tight and secure grip and the weight inside responds great to avoid bounces off a wall or floor.
